We Are Never Alone!

Hey Everyone! I hope you had a good Memorial Day weekend. This past week we saw Mike again! He is doing really well! The first lesson went great and he said he would read the Book of Mormon. Hopefully, all goes well with him. We did more service on the farm this week. It's definitely a lot of work. I don't know how farmers do it all. We also had a Memorial Day picnic this week. It was fun to see the branch and other members from different wards come. We had fun eating lots of food and had good talks from a few veterans.
Other than that, we have been trying to find more people who are willing to listen to the Gospel. It's been hard, but all the experiences and things that I have learned have been worth it. I hope that you realize that no matter what trials we may be going through, we are never alone. Angels are round about us, filled with the love of Christ and will bear us up in our trials. They are cheering us on, more than we know. I know this Gospel is true. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, once more restored on the earth. I hope you take the time this week to remember the sacrifices that were made by those serving our country.  I hope that you have a great week!

I tied that whole fence to the poles by myself.  It took forever!

More service at the farm!

Memorial Day Picnic! It was a lot of fun!

It's Definitely A Lot Different Than The Suburbs!

Hello Everybody! I hope you have had a good week! This past week in McConnellsburg, it has been fairly warm on some days. True to a mission experience, our apartment has no air conditioning, save one AC window unit that only fits in our study room. Thankfully, we have had cooler weather recently, so it hasn't been sweltering hot. The rolling hills and farmlands of Pennsylvania finally rewarded us with a new investigator! McConnellsburg hasn't had a new investigator in months, so this was a welcome change! His name is Mike and he is fairly older and works his own little metal recycling business. We were finally able to see him last week and teach him some of the Restoration, but unfortunately, it's been somewhat tricky getting in with him lately.  We are hoping to stop by at some point this week and see if we can finish teaching him about the Restoration!
Something fun that happened this week was working at the Cejika family farm! I chopped some wood and use a scythe to clear some weeds. It’s definitely a lot different than the suburbs that I'm used too! I was also able to pet this turkey that they have and it ended up following me everywhere on the farm! It was pretty humorous. Elder Harvey and I are hoping to go to the outskirts of our area this week and try to find some more people to teach. I hope you have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hey Everybody! I hope you had a great week! So, as you all know, Mother’s Day was yesterday! It was such a treat and a blessing to be able to talk with my family. I know that they truly love me and want the best for me. I couldn't ask for a better family!
McConnellsburg is definitely different than Abingdon! There’s a lot of farm country and lots of space. It's definitely been an adventure over here! We helped a family in the ward work on their farm this week, so that was different. I will have to wear boots the next time we go over there. It's been hard trying to find people to teach, but we aren't giving up. The Lord knows where those who are prepared to receive His message are. I know that it is through trials that we learn, grow, and come closer to the Savior. I know that He truly loves each of us with a perfect love and knows what we are going through. We just have to trust His will and His timing. I hope you have a great week!
